7 Months

So Megan is now 7 months and she has her first tooth! We are so excited for her. Thankfully she hasn't been fussy while it's been coming in. Very drooly, but that's about it. I feel so lucky. Except now she tries to find my fingers and bite them. Yeah, it hurts. She's talking a ton, well baby talk and I think is starting the process to crawl. Not sure yet. Jocelyn was 7 1/2 months when she was crawling, so who knows. She is just such a happy little girl. Everyone comments on how she smiles all the time and that she looks like a doll with her rosy cheeks. I have to admit, she's a very beautiful baby, biased or not.
This is of Megan talking. She is a big talker and is adorable with her sounds. If you look closely you can see her bottom tooth that has just come in.

Basement

Ok, I realized I haven't put pictures up in a while and the basement is nearly finished. Sorry guys.
Here is the wainscoting before it was primed. And also is the book case with the fireplace. This was taken mid April.

Our next picture is after I primed the top and the primer was on the bottom. The color is mint tea. We did it 75% of the full color. I love it so much. This wall is when you walk down our basement and go to the right.

And now the partially finished product. The first picture is our media room. Forgive the level and mess. That is the back wall with projector and speakers up. I took this room with a couple of different angles to get the feel for it. And the next picture is from the back looking at our screen. Obviously we still have to paint the bottom. Such a time consuming project. I decided to do the easy part first and paint the top.

This next picture is of our Toy/game room. The book shelf need another coat of paint, and the shelves aren't in yet, but it gives you the idea. We are also going to put 2 swings in here for the girls to swing on. I'm so excited about that.

Here is our Pantry which is at the bottom of the stairs. That should hold enough food for a while.

And lastly, here is a picture looking into what will be our exercise room. And that white door in the back will be our food storage room. That's not done yet. And then I'll make curtains for the room. I don't need everyone checking me out while I'm exercising. Seriously people. I hope you enjoy!!

Cake Decorating

So in April a couple of friends and myself took a cake decorating class together. It was a lot of fun and got me out of the house. I thought I'd post my pictures. These are in order of the time I made them.

The first one we were doing stars- not hard at all. We were celebrating Lori's birthday, so I made this for her. We also learned how to transfer patterns. That was good to know.
We could do a rainbow pattern or a character cake. I have already done a character cake, so I thought I'd go with this one.

My next cake we had to do a clown cake. Not a big fan of that, clowns are a bit weird and it used a lot of frosting. I don't like a ton of frosting. They are supposed to be sitting, but mine fell down on the ride home, so they are napping. I think this turned out well.

And for our final we had to do roses. I already knew how to do them so it wasn't too difficult. However my frosting was weird, so I bought the already made frosting from the store. It's a much softer consistency, so the roses didn't work as well. I learned a trick that for the bud part, you can use a Hershey's kiss. But honestly, it doesn't taste as good.

Hopefully next fall I can take another one and learn to do more flowers. It was fun.

Easter and 6 months

So I will try to do some catching up now. I've just been so busy. This year was the first year that we had Easter at home. It was very relaxing for us. Jocelyn woke up and found her Easter basket which she loved. We went to church and came home and took these great pictures.

And here is Megan at 6 months with Jocelyn and by herself. She is getting so big now. She is rolling over from back to front, talking a ton and eating. She loves playing with Jocelyn. Megan is such a happy baby. I feel so blessed. She just lights up when she smiles. I love her rosy cheeks.

I AM SUCH A SLACKER!

Ok, I just realized that I haven't been on here in over a month. No wonder my family has been picking on me. What a slacker. A lot has been happening. Megan is now 6 months, we had our family pictures taken, our basement is getting closer to being finished. The reason I haven't been blogging is because I wanted to post pictures as well. I'll try to do that in the next couple of days. While the kids were napping, I was usually downstairs helping with flooring, painting, and working with our contractor. Usually that is my time to blog and such. Sorry guys.
Life is great for us and we are loving it. Megan is huge!! I'll put her stats up with her 6 month picture. Jocelyn is running and is so active. She's such a blast and is growing so tall. And the weather is great one day and rainy the next and then cold. How crazy!
But we are all alive and well and I'll post pictures. Right now our contractor is putting up our ceiling in our media room. It's partially painted and looks fantastic.

Megan and spitting

So Megan likes to make buzzing noises with her mouth and now tongue. She puts it out and spits. It's so funny. So here is a clip of her doing that. She is such a funny girl. We enjoy her so much. And she loves her big sister so much. Jocelyn is so good with her. That makes me happy. I just hope they stay that way.

More basement

So our basement is getting close to finished. Last week we laid the floors down. I was able to help, which I loved. I even got to use the saw and cut some pieces. Our contractor is doing the wainscoting next then the ceiling. So we will paint when he's done with the wainscoting. We are doing a light green on top and white on the bottom. It's going to look great! So here are the pictures. This first one is at the bottom of the stairs. As you can see, one side is finished and the other looks like, well, basement.

This one is of our media/theater room. That back wall is where our couch will go and the opposite wall will be where our nice screen will go. We are so excited!!

And here is where the game room/toy room is. It's the room under our living room. We will have a lot of Jocelyn's toys down here for her to play with. I'll probably make curtains for the windows, but I'm not sure. They're little and that's the only natural light we get. We'll see.
