Cake Decorating

So in April a couple of friends and myself took a cake decorating class together. It was a lot of fun and got me out of the house. I thought I'd post my pictures. These are in order of the time I made them.

The first one we were doing stars- not hard at all. We were celebrating Lori's birthday, so I made this for her. We also learned how to transfer patterns. That was good to know.
We could do a rainbow pattern or a character cake. I have already done a character cake, so I thought I'd go with this one.

My next cake we had to do a clown cake. Not a big fan of that, clowns are a bit weird and it used a lot of frosting. I don't like a ton of frosting. They are supposed to be sitting, but mine fell down on the ride home, so they are napping. I think this turned out well.

And for our final we had to do roses. I already knew how to do them so it wasn't too difficult. However my frosting was weird, so I bought the already made frosting from the store. It's a much softer consistency, so the roses didn't work as well. I learned a trick that for the bud part, you can use a Hershey's kiss. But honestly, it doesn't taste as good.

Hopefully next fall I can take another one and learn to do more flowers. It was fun.
