Jocelyn's Robe of Many Colors
So sometimes Jocelyn likes to take a shower. After I get out, she sees that I put on my robe sometimes. She said that she wanted one too. I said that I would make her one if she really wanted. So 2 weekends ago Jocelyn and I headed off to Joann's, my sewing mecca. She wanted light purple fleece, but I could only find dark purple fleece. So we wandered the store because I'm also going to make her an apron (She enjoys cooking and baking with me). We did get her purple material for that. Well anyway, near that fabric was the flannel and the really soft cozy fabric. I found the material below and thought to myself, way too cute. So I asked Jocelyn if she would like that fabric for her robe. Obviously she said yes, because otherwise you would be looking at a different material on the robe. I've never done a robe before, and once I figured out the pockets, it went by really fast. We both think it's absolutely adorable. And when she outgrows it she has a little sister that it can go to. So here is a picture of it by itself and one of her modeling it. I stayed up until midnight last night finishing it. I gave it to her this morning as a surprise. She was so excited and happy.
Megan is 5 months!
So here is our little 5 month old. Is she cute or what. She is such a sweet little girl. She's been rolling over from her back to her stomach, but not the other way yet. She laughs a ton, sleeps 12 hours a night and is so patient. We just love having her in our family. She lights up a room. And she loves to look at Jocelyn and laugh. Whenever Jocelyn walks down the stairs and Megan is at the bottom, she cracks up. It's so funny to see.

So here are Me and Megan and Dan and Megan. Who does she look like? Most people say me, but I've heard one person say Dan. Any input? It doesn't really matter because she's her own person, but it seems that people love to put their input on these types of things.

Basement
So I'm finally putting pictures up of our basement. Here is Jocelyn at the bottom of the stairs. We cut some of the wall away on the stairs to give it more openness. The silver is the vapor barrier that our builder put up. This is way before we discovered that they did a horrible job with the insulation and we had mold problems. All taken care of now.
This is at the very bottom of the stairs. The cubby on the left is where our freezer goes and the part on the right is where we will have our pantry. It's very large, though you can't really see how big. Go food storage.

This is the room under our living room. It will be our play room for Jocelyn and the ping pong table. We will have a lot of built in book cases and a fireplace to keep it warm. I am so excited about this. We are doing a green top and white Waynes coating on the bottom.

This is the room below our mudroom. It will become our food storage room. What a great place for it. We will have lots of shelves in here.

We also have an exercise room and our media room/family room in which movies will be watched on our new projector. We are so excited about this. I have learned to mud and tape, and put in ceiling speakers. Dan has helped putting new insulation in, doing the drywall. He has every other Friday off, so he helps our contractor on those days. We are both learning new skills.

4 Months
I can't believe it but Megan is 4 months old. She is such a big girl now. She can grab at things, put her thumb in her mouth, laugh, follow you with her eyes quite well and roll on her side. She loves her monkey play gym and has great belly muscles. She enjoys standing now too. And I need to mention that she sleeps 12 hours at night. I feel so lucky and blessed. We just love our little girl and are so happy that she is in our family. Sometimes I cry with the emotions that I have. It's really amazing how you can love someone so much. The joy children bring into our lives is awesome. I think Megan has a patient personality and will be very easy going.

And of course the 2 girls. Jocelyn loves having her picture taken with Megan. And of course she's holding her baby. She likes to do what I do. If I burp Megan, she burps her baby. If I nurse Megan, she does likewise. It cracks me up. Having daughters is so great. Though I hope our next one is a boy so we can have both. Not that we're trying yet. I am not nuts. I need to let my body recover from the c-section, plus I really enjoy my time with Megan as a baby.

Valentine's Day
I wanted to put up some adorable pictures of my girls on Valentine's Day. Here is Megan in her Valentine's outfit. So cute! She smiles so much and is really a very well-tempered baby. She cries occasionally, but that's about it. I just adore my little girl.
And here is my adorable Jocelyn. She cracks us up. On Sunday night she says "It's cold outside, that's why I have my coat on." What a smart little girl. She is so fun to be with.

And here is a picture of the two of them together. Jocelyn has her "baby" as well. I love this picture.
Earlier in the week Jocelyn and I made sugar cookies. We did mostly hearts with a couple of music notes and a piano. But the rest are hearts. Jocelyn helped me cut some out and tried to frost, but that was hard, so her job was to put sprinkles on the cookies. I think she did a great job! And the best thing is that we get to eat our work. Yummy.

Another addition to our family
So last weekend while Sandy and Chris were visiting, Dan and I decided that my car wasn't worth all the money that was needed to keep it running. Mazda was having a special with no interest and we've been thinking about the Mazda 5. So, we went and test drove it with Megan. (San watched Jocelyn for us- Thanks!!). We loved it and now own it!! We have a silver Mazda 5. It's a crossover car that seats 6, but drives like a car- ours is a standard as well. It also has great gas mileage. Dan and I almost have to draw straws or play rock, paper, scissors to see who will drive when we are together. We both love how it drives. So without further ado, here is our new addition.
So on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the kids had school off. So Jocelyn, Megan, and I went up to Lori's so that the cousins could play. Below are the before pictures of going outside. Let me tell you how long it takes to get kids ready for playing in the snow- almost forever. Obviously not the older girls, but Jocelyn had to have so many layers. She was great about it though. She loves to play with all three cousins and had a blast outside. Megan stayed inside with me though. A bit young for the cold winters.

They were throwing snow up in the air.
On the last weekend in January Sandy, Chris and baby Claire came out to see us. We had such a great time with them. Claire is just 2 months younger than Megan so it was so great to watch them interact. They were looking at each other and we captured them almost holding hands. Way to cute. Megan is on the right and Claire on the left in pink. I just love that they are so close in age. Hopefully they will be the best of friends.

We just met but already love each other! Wow, you're little like me!
And here is my beautiful Megan sucking her thumb. I just wanted to get a picture of it because I think it's so adorable. Jocelyn never had any desire to suck her thumb, fingers, pacifier or anything else for that matter. But Megan since birth has always tried to get her fingers to her mouth. I just love how adorable she is. I think this helps self soothe her to sleep. Go Megan!
